Ionic Pro Air Purifier

So, just bought one of these... really cool actually. These units use a system of positively charging the air and all of the "nasties" in it and then running it across negatively charged blades. The result: the clear air is ejected into the room, the dirty stuff stays stuck to the collection blades.

My unit cost about 70.00 (I have a friend at Best Buy). Normally they run 170.00. You really do get your money's worth though. The Ionic Pro is a really good unit and does not have the same o-zone generating capability of other brands.

As far as cleaning it, very easy. Place in a sink full of hot soapy water and instantly the water will turn brown with all of the stuff stuck to the blades. Wipe them clean and then set them upright to completely dry - usually 24 hours.

I have yet to have an allergy attack and have been sleeping and breathing better than I have in a long time.

Dish Network..... ARGH!!!

So, thought I would give you all a little bit of an idea of what I do for 10 hours a day, 4 days a week:

I work for Dish Network. I answer the phone and type on my computer like a trained monkey in a cubicle. Its really a good job, but customer service is the only part of it that sucks. Don't get me wrong... I was a restaurant manager for several years for Bennigan's, but still find the whole idea to be crummy. My phone rings, I listen to a complete stranger bitch and curse me out for several minutes before offering to give them something on their bill for their troubles.

Honestly, at this point, the only thing I think they should get will be a foot in the ass, but It'll wear off and I'll go back to work smiling on Monday.

Grrrrr.....

Aaaaaahhh, StarFest 2009 was a HIT!!!

Not sure if anyone else from the Denver area is reading this, but with as massive as the internet is, you may never know. Starfest is one of the biggest events in the Denver metro area every year in April. Hundreds upon hundreds of nerds converge on the Denver Tech Center Marriott hotel in the hopes of meeting their favorite stars, meeting new friends, and getting completely twisted ass drunk at the after parties.

Yes my friends, good times.

This of course is made all the better with constant activity, and this year, we were even provided free caffeine at Comicon courtesy of NoS----->.

Yes, the life of this geek is once again whole.

Cancellation of Stargate Atlantis

Hey ya'll,

How is everyone doing? Good? Not so much here... everyone in my house is still broken over the loss of Stargate Atlantis and very angry with Sci-Fi for canning yet another example of tv gold. We're not sure what to do with Friday evenings now. (Yes, I know, we're nerds.)

Stargate was one of those shows that really caught my attention and I'm sad to lose it. The cancellation of SG-1 was one of those inevitable things after 10 years on the air, but this one had only been running for half of that and they got rid of it. Suck.

Joe Flanigan, Torri Higginson, Rachel Luttrell, David Hewlett - you will all be missed.

Even Robert Picardo......... just a little.

The First 100 days of the new presidency

Hello all,

I'm new to the blogging scene, but thought that I would give it a try... I kind of want to get opinions from everyone possible on the new president and his policies: Plans for America, the economy, the people and all of the other issues we're seeing nowadays on the news. Honestly, every time I go to flick on the news, I am barraged by all the things people are saying about Obama and his plans for the country... I really would like to see what the ordinary everyday people are saying. Our current situation with the failing economy, our new prez Obama and what he's doing to fix it (or damage it if that's your feeling on it) and what we are going to be able to do as a people to outlast it.
